Foster's Boss Speaks After Seventh Loss In Nine Games

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has discussed his team's struggles after losing for the seventh time already in the Premier League this season on the weekend, a game in which Lyle Foster started up front.

The Clarets suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, with Kompany's team having picked up only four points in their opening nine matches of the campaign.

The loss on the weekend was particularly poor given the Bees' form prior to their performance at home against Burnley, a win that has seen them go six points clear of the relegation zone.

Bafana Bafana international Foster, the Clarets' leading goalscorer in the Premier League so far this season, played the full 90 minutes but was unable to leave his mark in this particular game.

Kompany, looking for positives, believes it is now time to see how his team responds to this difficult period.

"Personally, I have a very strong feeling about these types of moments. They define you as a human being. Not just in football, but life in general," he said, according to Burnley Express.

"You're at your highest high and you get success and you get everything going for you, can you still be humble? Can you still work hard? Can you still be together?

"When you're having a tough time, and I'm not saying we're at the lowest low but it's a tough game, it's a tough day for us, can we still be resilient? Can we still be together? Can you do what is right for the team and face the truth, which is something that is really important to me.

"It's nothing I would ever hide away from because, during my entire career and my life, these have been the most valuable moments."
