Despite not being at their best in the Premiership and the MTN8 so far this season, Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr has stated that the club is "positively optimistic" about their future.
Motaung Jr is hopeful after signing many players to strengthen the squad for this season, and now he is focusing on building a team that can compete in the coming four to five years.

"I think there are many aspects to it. To be honest we have a very new team. Nine players this year and also from last year, coupled with youngsters from the Academy," Motaung Jr told the media.
"If we objectively look at it, it's a new team and it takes time to be able to get a consistent base with all these players from different backgrounds.
"To fall into line how you want it to be from our side we took a conscious effort to improve in key areas which we thought were very important for us to fix in the short term.
"But it is also in line with the longer term. We can't be too busy trying to fix all the holes immediately. I think we are having a good mix of youth and experience in the team.
"Like you said, we know the positives and we are aware that we don't want to be in position eight. We don't want to be out of the MTN8 as a club of this size. That's not where we wanna be.
"But I think with this bunch of players that we have put together and the reason behind this mix I think that we are very positively optimistic about the direction we are taking as one team.
"We have seen teams which have spent four to five years together and the rewards they reap. We are very confident in the squad we have assembled. And we are not finished by any regard. We are always to evolve and take things further," Motaung Jr concluded.
