In four matches in the league so far this season, Bucs have won two, drawn one and lost one and are fourth on the log above Kaizer Chiefs.
Mofedi believes that the Soweto giants could do well in cup competitions this season but will struggle in the league in the race to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns for top honours.
"What I know is that league and cup matches are not the same. For me, Pirates have been good in the MTN8 but I foresee a problem for the team in the league. As much as the team has been good in some matches, they have been inconsistent for my liking," said Mofedi.

"I remember the game they played against Stellenbosch in the opening weekend of the season and they weren't so great. We played against the same team in a cup competition and we won. That's why I am talking about inconsistency although there is hope for improvement. I have been impressed with some of the players and (Zakhele) Lepasa and (Patrick) Maswanganyi are some of the players that have been doing well. Lepasa is proving to be a quality player since his return from loan with SuperSport United and that is good to see," he said.
