The striker had returned from SuperSport United where he struggled for game time and managed to revive his career under coach Steve Barker at the Winelands outfit.

Rayners scored nine goals from 10 matches in the league and had six other strikes from four appearances in the Nedbank Cup, as well as eight assists, including the five in SuperSport colours.
The forward was strongly linked with a move to Mamelodi Sundowns although in the end it was Junior Mendieta who made the switch to Chloorkop.
Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs were reportedly also keen on the 27-year-old.
For his progress, Rayners was chosen as the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament at the annual PSL end of the season awards.
He also made history by becoming the first Stellenbosch player to win a PSL Player of the Month as he went on to do it two times in a row for February/March and in April.

While Rayners is still being linked with a move back to Gauteng, indications are that he is also being monitored abroad.
According to sources, Egyptian club Al Masry is showing interest in Rayners with a view to make an offer for his services.
It is believed that the parties are keeping their cards close to their chest at this point.
