Kaizer Chiefs Commercial and Marketing Director Jessica Motaung has responded to certain supporters who stated that the club does not take them seriously, by not signing players such as Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo.
Amakhosi finished their eighth consecutive season without a trophy in the 2022/23 campaign and the supporters have been left frustrated by the decline of the club.

Motaung has suggested that the criticism is not completely justified, given the passionate expression of the fans, as Amakhosi have been in cup finals and lost the 2019/20 league title by a mere 13 minutes after leading the PSL table for the whole campaign.
"I love the passion but I think people sometimes must be kind in the way that they engage, it's easier on social media, you're faceless," Motaung said on Marawa Sports Worldwide.
"You have to understand that sometimes there are issues that come up and people don't understand. I find it a lot of the time that supporters can be quite nasty in the way that they express their frustration or passion.
"And let's understand, Chiefs have been in many finals, let's not discount (that). How many finals have we been in? It's not that the club is just not doing well. I mean we lost the league with 13 minutes, we were leading (the whole season), 13 minutes after that the league went away from us," she said.
The marketing manager then addressed complaints of not signing quality players such as Mayo.
"I understand the excitement and the desire for us to sign particular players but there are contexts. Players have contracts, when you're looking to sign a particular player you may not be able to get him," she explained.
"Is the player available? Does he fit? Is he part of the plan? Look at Mayo for example, who wouldn't have wanted Mayo? We did want him. His father (Patrick) played for Chiefs.
"But the team (Cape Town City) had their own plan, they decided they wanted to renew his contract or else sell him overseas and to say we're not taking supporters seriously… we're signing players, changes are made," she said.
"My plea to supporters is to allow us to do the work and allow the results to flow," she added.
