Earlier in this window, it seemed likely the 30-year-old would rejoin the Nerazzurri on a permanent basis, but after news broke that he and his representatives were also in discussions with their bitter rivals Juve over a possible move, the 19-time Serie A champions withdrew their interest immediately.
The Bianconeri may be adding insult to injury as far as their pursuit of the Belgian is concerned because, as per Gazzetta dello Sport, the ex-Manchester United and Everton man is not a top priority for Juve's board.
Although Old Lady boss Massimiliano Allegri is believed to be pushing to bring the pacey attacker to the Allianz Stadium, the record Scudetto winners will not buy the Antwerp native unless they offload talisman Dusan Vlahovic.
The club's new sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, stated as such recently, claiming that no new incomings are to be expected after the arrival of Timothy Weah.
"Our market is already closed. We renew [Adrien] Rabiot for one year, we recover [Arkadiusz] Milik and we sign [Timothy] Weah," the Italian executive admitted, as per Mundo Deportivo.
There is, however, still hope that Lukaku could join the three-time European champions, with Giuntoli also recently revealing that the club could sell their Serbian talisman should an irresistible offer arrive.

"We must find the right balance. They [Federico Chiesa and Vlahovic] are unsellable for us. Right now we rely on them, but if we receive irrefutable offers, we sit down and talk because we need to balance the books," the 51-year-old said, as per Football Italia.
