AmaZulu To Part Ways With Mhango?

AmaZulu To Part Ways With Mhango?

Gabadhino Mhango could be on his way out of AmaZulu FC as part of the 11 players who will reportedly be released by the club.

Usuthu president Sandile Zungu announced last month that the team will release 11 players,  but Lehlohonolo Majoro and Dumisani Zuma are the only two who have left so far.

News reaching the Siya crew is that the club is understood to have informed Mhango to stop training with the team. Indications are that the two parties could look to find a mutual agreement in order to terminate the contract.

"What I can tell you is that the team management has informed Mhango to stop training with the team right now as they sort out other issues concerning him concerning his contract. He still has two years left on his contract because he signed a three-year deal when he joined from Orlando Pirates last year. I don't want to speculate whether they have only agreed mutually or they are still talking, but the fact is that he has been stopped from training with the team as they sort out his contract issues.  That's what I know at the moment," the source said.

Another source added that he was part of the team in pre-season but it seems he is not in the new coach's plans.

"He joined the team for pre-season in time and he has been training with them, but it like looks he didn't impress the new coach plus the management were also just waiting for the recommendations from the technical team as he was already part of the players that were supposed to be released already by the team. The thing that was holding back was the issue of the contract. Even now they are talking about settlement on mutual understanding," the source added.  There have been reports linking the Malawian attacker with a move to DStv Premiership sides SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs.

When contacted for comment, AmaZulu media officer Brilliant Nhlanhla Mkhathini could neither deny nor confirm the issue.

"I am not allowed to comment on some of these issues at the club. So I am not sure of that but let me check and I will come back to you," Mkhathini said.
