It has been reported that the Portuguese was approached by the newly promoted Saudi side ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Al Ahli are rumoured to have parted ways with head coach Mosimane, who met the requirement to take the club back up to the Saudi Pro League in his first season in charge.
The South African tactician, however, is believed to have left his role as manager after recently revealing he had not been paid for four months.
According to Italian publication Sky Sport Italia, Mourinho had no intention of accepting the proposal but met with the club out of courtesy.
The two-time UEFA Champions League-winning boss is expected to remain at Roma for the coming season, although he is in no rush to extend his contract in Italy.
Mourinho is among the many high-profile managers approached by teams in Saudi Arabia in recent months as the league seeks to fast-track its growth ahead of the country's bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
