Saudis 'In Talks' For Neymar

Saudis 'In Talks' For Neymar

After missing out on Lionel Messi, Saudi giants Al Hilal are reportedly interested in making a mega-money move for Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.

According to CBS Sport, a Blue Wave delegation made its way to the French capital on the weekend in order to see if they can convince the superstar attacker to make the move to the Middle East.

The Brazilian is believed to have been transfer-listed by Les Parisiens, but there has seemingly been little interest in acquiring a 31-year-old who is often injured and is on an extremely lucrative deal, until now.

Al Hilal was heavily tipped to land Lionel Messi's signature after it was confirmed his PSG contract would not be extended, but the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner announced earlier this month that he would be signing with Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami instead.

While they may have missed out on acquiring the Rosario-born forward's services, the Public Investment Fund-owned side still wants a marquee signing.

At the beginning of the year, Al Hilal's fiercest rivals Al Nassr made a massive move by signing Cristiano Ronaldo, and the same report suggests that the Saudi Pro League wants to reignite the rivalry between the two clubs by bringing Neymar to the opposition.

Brazil's all-time top goalscorer could reportedly be set to earn the same amount as Ronaldo, who is believed to have inked a deal in the region of €200 million (R4 billion), in the Middle East.

PSG also want to reduce their wage bill drastically, so would welcome the Mogi das Cruzes native's sale.

The 18-time Saudi Pro League champions are said to be willing to part with €45 million (R903 million) to sign Neymar, and while Les Parisiens seem eager to part with the forward, it will ultimately be up to him if he wants to put an end to his European career.

However, Get French Football News claims the ex-Santos forward has little intention of accepting the proposal as he wants to remain on the continent.
