The Frenchman will now enter a brand-new dressing room for the first time in 14 years after calling time on his Real Madrid career, with the Middle Eastern side having moved quickly to land the playmaking forward's signature in a deal that could be worth as much as €200 million (R4.1 billion).
The transfer will also see Benzema reunite, to a degree, with his former Los Blancos teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, except this time they will be on opposing sides as they challenge for the Saudi top division crown.
The Lyon native's new team pipped Ronaldo's Al Nassr to the title this past season, so Benzema could be looking to leave his ex-strike partner without a league title for another season as he makes his arrival in the Gulf nation.
