Pitso Mosimane has made a bold statement on his future after his side lifted the Saudi Arabian First Division title on Monday evening.
All eyes were on Mosimane with his side officially crowned champions last week following a 1-0 win over Al Qadisiyah.
It was thought that his final league match against Al Hazm would be his last in charge of Al Ahli after the club's president revealed that their ambition could be greater than having 'Jingles' at the helm.
However, Mosimane dropped a major bombshell after their goalless draw on Monday, revealing that he intends to see out his contract and lead the club in the Saudi Arabian Pro League next season.
"I have a clause in my contract, if I manage to gain promotion with the club, it will automatically be extended for another season, and I do not intend to change it," Mosimane told Saudi TV after the match.
Naturally, the coach's comments seem to have triggered debate within the Arabian country as the club is understood to be assessing the possibility of bringing in a high-profile European coach, having successfully managed to gain promotion after one season in the First Division.
A worrying sight on the night was the club's subdued celebrations, which Mosimane cited as the players' displeasure with the club's administration.
"I celebrated all my championships that I achieved, and the players' failure to celebrate today belongs to the administration. In general, this thing does not occupy my mind because I came to restore Al-Ahli to its place as a champion," Mosimane continued.
