Agent Sheds Light On Ndah's Pirates Future

Agent Sheds Light On Ndah's Pirates Future

Agent Mike Makaab believes Olisa Ndah will be with Orlando Pirates next season, but has not completely ruled out a move abroad with interest from both the MLS and Europe.

The lanky Nigerian international struggled with injury during the past season, missing more than half the campaign while recovering. Interest in Ndah rose while he was playing regularly for the Buccaneers, but his injuries have made it difficult for him to keep attracting the attention of scouts abroad.

Should a good offer come in for him from abroad, the Buccaneers are mostly likely to cash in on the player, as they've done in recent seasons with foreign internationals such as Marshall Munetsi and Tendai Ndoro.

Ndah, who was at Loftus Stadium on Saturday to celebrate the Nedbank Cup title with his teammates, has not featured for the side since scoring an own goal in the Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs back in February. Before the derby, he had been out nursing an injury which kept him out for about two months. In total, he made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Soweto giants this season.

"He's had a very difficult season with niggling injuries. Hopefully he is over the worst and, having spoken to the club just recently, they believe that he is well on his way to recovery and that he will be fully fit and ready to start the new season," Makaab said to the Siya crew.

"There is still interest in Olisa overseas, both from the MLS and in Europe. But I don't have to tell you that it's all about timing. Sadly, as soon as the interest escalated, on the back of his performances which saw him being called into the Nigerian national team...as soon as that happened, he had a series of unfortunate injuries. He is a top class professional and top class person. I have no doubt that he will get back to where he was and beyond. Then we will take it one step at a time.

"If there is a serious offer, I've always had a wonderful relationship with the club. If the offer is serious and it's good for him and fair to the club, then it will be seriously considered. But Olisa's fine. He still has some years left on his contract."

The 25-year-old is expected to start pre-season with the Buccaneers, but a move remains possible.
