Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter says he's "extremely proud" to have revived the careers of the likes of Daniel Cardoso, Edwin Gyimah and Sibusiso Vilakazi.
Truter discusses how these players "were written off" and revealed the turning point of their respective seasons.
Sekhukhune will be competing in their first cup final in the club's history, against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup and finished their DStv Premiership season in seventh spot, qualifying for the MTN8, after edging SuperSport United 1-0 in their final league game of the campaign.
Ahead of the final against Pirates, Truter reflected on their season and says regardless of their cup run, they have a achieved a lot, considering that when he took over in December last year, the club was languishing second-from-bottom in the DStv Premiership table.

"There's so many accolades, achievements this season. Except for the cup final, as a team, going to the cup final, CAF, from 15th (position when Truter took over) to MTN8," Truter said in the Nedbank Cup press conference.
"From the goalkeeper, in 20 games, 10 clean-sheets, 22 with cup games, it takes it to 15 in 22 games. (Daniel) Cardoso, (Edwin) Gyimah, written off.
"Gyimah has played every single minute in the league, including the cup final. I don't think there are a lot of players who played more minutes than him (in the PSL)," he said.
"(And also Sibusiso) Vilakazi, written off, they've said so many things (about them) in the media. (Roderick) Kabwe long-term injury, coming back to South Africa, nobody wanted to take a chance on him.
"As a coach I'm extremely proud of the team and the staff that works behind the scenes who have helped with this progress."
The former Swallows and AmaZulu tactician went on and revealed that the two-month FIFA World Cup break in December last year helped him solve many issues at the club and that it was a turning point for them.
"We've been the laughing stock at 15th position coming into December. But luckily for me the World Cup break helped us in working on a lot of things. The lack of confidence, being written off, mentality, psychology, everything," he added.
