Nabil Maaloul announced he has stepped down from his position as head coach of Esperance after the big defeat to Al Ahly in their CAF Champions League semi-final on Friday night.
The Tunisian outfit suffered a 3-0 defeat to the ten-time African champions on home soil and will need a massive performance to turn the game around next week.
However, Tunis will be doing under a new coach as Maaloul announced his resignation after the defeat in a statement.

"I understand the sadness and disappointment of the fans after this difficult loss, and I apologize to all the fans for not being able to bring joy to the hearts of our old fans last night," Maaloul said via his Facebook page.
"Recently, the task was not easy for me and for the rest of the technical team and the players for several reasons that can be explained in the current situation; but I tried my best to find the appropriate solutions, overcome difficulties and achieve the best possible results.
"The call of duty house when my team needed me in a difficult period at the end of the overtime season, thank God, we succeeded in some things and failed in other things, and man makes mistakes and gets injured.
"Mostly for the benefit of my Tunisian Sporting Team, I decided to withdraw and submit my resignation to the club president.
"I call on all the fans to continue supporting the players in the rest of the journey in the championship, the cup and the CAF Champions League.
