FA Make Decision After Pep's Goal Celebration Vs Liverpool

FA Make Decision After Pep's Goal Celebration Vs Liverpool

The Football Association (FA) has reportedly made a decision after Pep Guardiola's controversial goal celebration during Manchester City's thrashing of Liverpool this past weekend.

Pep Celebrates In Front Of Liverpool Sub, Accused Of Disrespect!

The Citizens claimed an emphatic 4-1 victory over their Premier League rivals on Saturday afternoon after going a goal down 17 minutes into the match following a strike from Mohamed Salah.

It was not long before Argentine forward Julian Alvarez equalised, a goal Guardiola seemed to celebrate in the face of Reds substitute Kostas Tsimikas, who did not react to the Spaniard's apparent taunts.

According to The Echo, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager will not be punished by the FA for his actions after it appeared he had breached FA Rule E3, which states "participants must not act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute".

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Guardiola denied any wrongdoing when asked if he believed his reaction could have been interpreted as disrespectful.

"I'm so sorry. Speak with Tsimikas, speak with Arthur for a lack of respect. Ask him if I lack respect. I celebrated the goal," he said, as per the Mirror.

"I celebrate with my son on the floor and I come here and I say 'the goal was nice, wasn't it?' That's all. I'm so sorry. Do you think it was a lack of respect? Ah okay, I'm sorry."

Still with a game in hand, City are currently eight points off first-placed Arsenal in the Premier League.
