According to The Sun, Manchester City are prepared to bump the Norwegian's wages up to a mammoth £500 000 (R11.1 million) a week.
The forward is currently the joint-highest earner in the English top flight alongside teammate Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea on £375 000 (R8.3 million) weekly, but as he closes in on a half-century of goals for the Citizens in his debut campaign with them – he has scored 42 times across all competitions since joining – the club reportedly wants to reward him handsomely for his goalscoring prowess.
Multiple reports suggest that Real have identified the 22-year-old as their primary target for the next transfer window as they look to lure the prolific marksman away from the Etihad Stadium.
However, City want to send a clear "hands off" message for their talisman. The Leeds-born striker already has a deal with City that runs until 2027, but the reigning English champions want to renew with Haaland in an effort to stave off interest from other clubs.
It is said the Norway international could sign a one-year extension and have the most lucrative deal in all of England, with the forward's representatives believed to be keen to hold talks with the club while the Citizens are understood to be confident of his extension.

The eight-time English champions are reportedly also hoping a Haaland extension will increase the likelihood of them signing his old friend Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
