Mamelodi Sundowns are not expected to reintegrate defender Nyiko Mobbie back into their squad next season, the Siya crew has established.
The right back is currently on loan at Sekhukhune United, a fourth successive stint away from the Tshwane giants since he joined them from Free State Stars in 2019.

While Mobbie does have a few games under his belt in a Downs jersey, he has often been seen as surplus to requirements and sent out to Stellenbosch FC, Chippa United and Sekhukhune United.
According to Soccer Laduma insiders, even with regular Bafana Bafana call-ups under coach Hugo Broos, who has made it clear he is a big admirer of the player's qualities despite criticism, the Sundowns technical team hasn't yet factored Mobbie into their plans.

The Siya crew understands that given Thapelo Morena and Khuliso Mudau are his direct competition for the right back position, the technical team feel Mobbie would have to play out of his skin to displace the duo.
Downs also have Grant Kekana as an alternative, making it even harder for Mobbie to have a future at Chloorkop. It remains to be seen what actually transpires at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, especially with Babina Noko clearly a team where he has excelled.
Mobbie signed a five-year contract at Sundowns following his transfer from the now-defunct Stars, but the Brazilians' loan policy means the long-term arrangement has not reduced the number of years he committed to.
