Not many teams, if any, can brag about scoring five goals against Al Ahly on two separate occasions and Mamelodi Sundowns hold that honour, but there are some other big wins in the CAF Champions League for the Tshwane giants.
Sundowns tore the Ahly defence apart at Loftus Stadium over the weekend, proving that they are a force on the continent, though they know that it would mean absolutely nothing if they don't go all the way to win the competition. It will be a big boost for Sundowns, who need to build on the victory to ensure they finally get the second star they have been trying to get since 2016.

Before the group stages in 2019/20, Sundowns delivered a show-stopping performance in an 11-1 win at Loftus. In the first leg clash, they had beaten the club from Seychelles 5-0, so they won the clash 16-1 on aggregate.
2020/21
CR Belouizdad 1 Sundowns 5
Sundowns registered one of their biggest victories away from home when they hammered Algerian outfit CR Belouizdad 5-1. Themba Zwane bagged a brace and the party was joined by Peter Shalulile, Lebohang Maboe and Kermit Erasmus, who got their names on the scoresheet.

2022/23
Sundowns 8 La Passe 1
Earlier this season, before the group stages, Sundowns hardly broke a sweat as they cruised to a 8-1 victory in the second leg qualifying round clash against La Passe from Seychelles, inspired by a hat-trick from young Cassius Mailula. The first leg away from home saw Sundowns registering a 7-0 win, as they won the tie 15-1 on aggregate.
