Messi Makes Shock Contract U-Turn?

Messi Makes Shock Contract U-Turn?

Reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain talisman Lionel Messi could be on the verge of making a shock exit from the French capital.

Bayern 'Decide' Punishment For Neuer After Shock Interview

The French giants are currently enduring a trying time in their 2022/23 campaign, having suffered their third defeat of the new year this past weekend. It was after this 3-1 defeat to title rivals AS Monaco that tempers reportedly flared in the PSG dressing room, with Neymar said to be at the forefront of that bust-up.

The Brazilian was said to be unhappy with Vitinha and Hugo Ekitike's performances in the match, and was also involved in an argument with the club's sporting director, Luis Campos.

The loss in the principality appeared to be a culmination of underlying tensions that had been brewing in Paris all season long, and now, according to Foot Mercato, the record Ligue 1 champions are willing to part ways with the world's most expensive-ever player.

It is further claimed that Messi could be joining Brazil's all-time top goalscorer in an exit from the Parc des Princes at the end of this season.

After the Argentine's 2022 FIFA World Cup triumph, it was reported that the Rosario native would extend his stay with the French side, but now it seems the 35-year-old may have changed his mind.

The recent dressing-room tensions in Paris have left doubt in Messi's mind as to whether or not he will be able to succeed with PSG and lift the biggest titles in European football. Despite this, though, the club is believed to be doing everything in its power to convince the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner to extend his stay.

Neymar Confirms PSG Dressing-Room Clash

The former Barcelona captain has reportedly been contacted by Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal in recent months over a possible move to the Middle East, in a deal that could make him the highest-paid footballer in the game's history.

Offers in the United States of America have also been of interest to the Argentine, but with only a couple of months remaining on his current deal, Messi's future remains unclear.
