Three Pirates Young Stars Lead For Return…

Three Orlando Pirates' young stars have impressed for a possible return to the club and a chance in the first team for next season.

Prior to the beginning of the 2022/23 season, the Soweto giants confirmed sending Boitumelo Radiopane and Azola Matrose on loan, as some of the players who didn't feature in the club's plans for the current campaign.

Matrose had been signed from Chippa United and made to remain with the club for this season, and was joined by Ronaldo Maarman at the Eastern Cape outfit although the Buccaneers did not officially announce his signing or confirm his loan.

The two players have been impressive for the Chilli Boys, while Radiopane who is a Bucs' development product has been doing well for Cape Town Spurs in Motsepe Foundation Championship where he is on loan.

All three players have been closely monitored for a possible return to link up with coach Jose Riveiro's team for next season.

Indications from sources close to Bucs are that the trio could form part of the plans for the new campaign as the club is expected to undergo further squad changes in the same way they did at the end of last season when several senior players were let go to allow for the new generation of stars to get opportunities to shine.

Bucs will hope for the similar success story of Monnapule Saleng to play out for the young trio after the influential winger came back from Swallows FC where he was on loan and proved his worth.

Other Pirates stars on loan this season are Tshegofatso Mabasa (Sekhukhune United), Kwame Peprah (Maritzburg United), Ntsako Makhubela (Golden Arrows), Nkanyiso Zungu (Richards Bay), Azola Tshobeni (JDR Stars), while Bongani Sam who started the campaign with the Team of Choice on loan, has since parted ways with the club.
