Following his 2022 FIFA World Cup triumph with Argentina, Lionel Messi has reportedly decided where he will be playing his football next season.
Argentina Star Makes Messi Admission For 2026 World Cup
The 35-year-old has been linked with a move to the MLS in recent months, but appears to have informed Paris Saint-Germain he will continue in Ligue 1 for at least another campaign as the end of his current deal approaches.
Messi, whose World Cup heroics have already made him a favourite for the 2023 Ballon d'Or, is believed to have a "verbal pact" with the French giants to extend his stay before his contract expires at the end of this season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims the Albiceleste captain and PSG will meet this week to discuss the terms of his new deal in France's capital.

Messi had also been tipped to make a return to Barcelona in 2023, after president Joan Laporta and head coach Xavi Hernandez both publicly made statements implying the Argentine would be welcomed back in Spain.
Reports, however, suggest that Messi and his former club never entered into talks over a potential comeback, perhaps due to the nature of his shock free-agent departure in 2021.
The playmaker was said to be devastated by Laporta's decision to not extend his contract at the Blaugrana and has reportedly closed that chapter, despite his legacy at the Camp Nou and his relationship with the club's fans.
