Ronaldo Set For Medical With New Club?

Ronaldo Set For Medical With New Club?

Following his controversial exit from Manchester United, reports claim that Cristiano Ronaldo now has a medical booked with his next club.

OFFICIAL: Liverpool's First Major January Signing Confirmed

It seems Ronaldo's two-decade club career in Europe is set to come to an end, with CBS Sport having reported that Saudi Arabian giants Al Nassr have booked a medical for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

The 37-year-old left Old Trafford after his now-notorious interview with Piers Morgan caused tensions to boil over between him and the United hierarchy. The two parties, as a result, decided to mutually terminate the forward's contract, leaving the Portuguese marksman without a club.

The Madeira native may not be a free agent for much longer, however, with a move to the Middle East seemingly nearing closer.

Ronaldo has been linked with a number of clubs in Europe, but serious interest in his services has waned drastically in recent months.

The likes of Bayern Munich and Chelsea both opted against signing the football icon, but the Knights of Najd are determined to land the forward's signature.

Al Nassr are currently top of the Saudi Pro League as they look to win the title for the first time since 2019, and the same report suggests that they see Ronaldo as the perfect signing to achieve their goal.

The Saudi club would make it worth his while, too, with international football's record goalscorer set to rake in a staggering £830 000 (R17.1 million) a week if he signs with the Riyadh-based club.

It is further claimed that Al Nassr are confident they will sign Ronaldo, even going as far as to book accommodation for the attacker and his advisors.

It is also understood that the broad terms of his contract have been agreed, with the only thing left to do is for the ex-Real Madrid man to conclude the formalities of the move.
