On Tuesday, Argentina's players arrived in Buenos Aires to celebrate winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup with an open-top bus parade. Here are the best pictures of Lionel Messi and his compatriots flaunting the trophy back home!

Ronaldo's Sister Calls 2022 World Cup 'Worst' Ever

This past weekend, the Albiceleste claimed their second major trophy in two years after clinching a dramatic penalty shootout win over France in the final of the World Cup in the Middle East.

Head coach Lionel Scaloni has now won both the Copa America and World Cup since taking charge in 2018, an outcome not many believed was possible after their opening-day defeat to Herve Renard's Saudi Arabia.

Messi, however, kept his teammates believing as they overcame Mexico in their second group-stage match, before their 2-0 win over Poland secured Argentina's place in the round of 16.

After beating Australia in the last 16, largely inspired by their No. 10 and captain, the South American champions advanced past the Netherlands in the quarter-finals after a successful, Emiliano Martinez-show-stealing shootout and met Croatia in the semi-finals.

Scaloni's men put on arguably their most complete performance of the showpiece in Qatar to beat a Luka Modric-led Croatia 3-0, booking their place in the final against the 2018 world champions.

Transfer Update: Messi

The team's celebrations were believed to continue late into Sunday night and early into Monday morning, with the players and technical staff having since landed in Buenos Aires to parade the illustrious gold trophy in front of their passionate supporters.
