Reports suggest that Barcelona want to sign two of Manchester City's star-studded midfield contingent.

In the previous transfer window, Barca were interested in buying Bernardo Silva, and while the midfielder's father admitted that informal talks were held between the two parties, a tangible deal failed to materialise.
Pep Guardiola and City remain keen to retain the Portuguese playmaker's services, but according to Manchester Evening News, the Catalan outfit is still interested in acquiring Silva's services, and will try again at the end of the campaign.
However, the 28-year-old is seemingly not the only Citizen Xavi Hernandez wants at the Camp Nou, with the same report claiming that Ilkay Gundogan is also on Barca's transfer radar.
The German's contract at the Etihad Stadium expires at the end of the season, and the LaLiga table-toppers are tracking the box-to-box midfielder's situation in Manchester.
If any deal is to be successful for the Spanish side, there will also have to be significant outgoings from their team. While they have alleviated a lot of their financial burden since Joan Laporta began his second presidency, the club is still not yet in the clear and will look to navigate the transfer market with caution.

The same report claims that Barca acknowledge that buying the duo may prove a difficult task given their financial constraints, but believe it to be possible.
