With Cristiano Ronaldo having received an offer from Saudi Arabia, here is the reported latest on the ex-Manchester United forward's future following his disappointing 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign.
Santos: I Don't Regret Benching Ronaldo
It was claimed earlier this month that the 37-year-old has received a formal proposal from Saudi giants Al Nassr after his departure from the Red Devils in November.
Ahead of Portugal's World Cup tournament, United and Ronaldo came to a mutual agreement to terminate the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's contract, leading to questions over where the future of his club career lies.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the former Real Madrid No. 7 is yet to make a decision on Al Nassr's offer as he waits to see if clubs from Europe will come in for his signature.
"Now that Portugal's World Cup is over, I've had more than a few questions about Cristiano Ronaldo and a possible decision on his future coming soon," Romano wrote in a column for Caught Offside.
"Al Nassr's proposal is still on the table but Cristiano Ronaldo has not decided anything as of now. He has not accepted that bid.
"I'm not in Cristiano's head so I'm afraid I have no idea of when he will decide his future, but at this stage there's still nothing agreed, signed or decided.
"Al Nassr will wait, while he's now hoping for European clubs to change the story."
