With Cristiano Ronaldo having recently been released by Manchester United, England star Marcus Rashford has responded to one of his idols leaving the club.
Croatia Star: We F***** Canada
Last week, United confirmed that they, and Ronaldo, had mutually agreed to terminate the Portuguese's contract following his explosive interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan.
During the now-notorious interview, the 37-year-old lambasted the club, manager Erik ten Hag, and its owners, and argued that the club disrespected him on multiple occasions.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's departure from Old Trafford means that ten Hag has only two recognised strikers at his disposal in Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, and the latter has now expressed his gratitude for having played with the Portugal captain.
"It has been an unbelievable experience to play with him," Rashford told reporters ahead of England's World Cup clash with Wales this week, as per Manchester Evening News.
"He is one of my idols and someone I always looked up to.
"It's something I can keep with me forever.
"I wish him all the best and we want to thank him for the things he's done for Manchester United."
