Giroud Ties Henry's France Record!

Giroud Ties Henry's France Record!

Olivier Giroud's brace on Tuesday night saw the AC Milan star go level on goals with all-time top goalscorer Thierry Henry for France.

OFFICIAL! Man Utd Make Final Decision On Ronaldo Future

Les Bleus began their FIFA World Cup title retention journey in emphatic fashion when they put four goals past Australia in a 4-2 victory on Tuesday night.

Having already scored in the first half, Giroud rose higher than everybody else to head home his second goal in the 71st minute, ensuring that the 36-year-old equalled Henry's remarkable record of 51 goals for France.

The feat is perhaps made all the more memorable considering that the former Arsenal striker only made his senior international debut for the European nation at the age of 25.

The former Arsenal striker's brace also saw him join Enner Valencia, Bukayo Saka and Mehdi Taremi as the leading scorers in the World Cup so far.

The ex-Chelsea hitman seems to only be getting better as he gets older, having scored 23 goals in 57 appearances since joining the Rossoneri in July 2021.

Transfer Update: Lionel Messi

He also helped the Italian giants capture their first Scudetto title in over a decade last season, and like his World Cup aspirations, will be hoping his team can once again be crowned champions.
