The young Ngwenya has been playing for the Swallows Diski Challenge side and is understood to have penned a senior team deal, after impressing management. The Siya crew understands that the midfielder has signed a one-year contract, with an option to extend for another season.
The Siya crew has previously reported on the Swallows FIFA transfer ban for outstanding monies owed to former players Vladimir Mandic and Obren Cuckovic, but the club is able to promote players from their youth system.
Kaizer Chiefs were in a similar position when Soweto giants were issued a transfer ban and were unable to sign new players. This gave the club an opportunity to promote some of the youngsters from the Diski Challenge side, which saw the likes of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Happy Mashiane and Njabulo Blom getting to be part of the first team and, of course, getting game-time.
Blom, in particular, has gone on to shine for Amakhosi, but there is uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, with his contract being a hot topic in recent weeks.
