It has reportedly been revealed how Manchester United's first-team stars responded to Cristiano Ronaldo's bombshell interview, in which he strongly criticised manager Erik ten Hag and the Red Devils.
Rooney Slams Ronaldo's Behaviour This Season
On Sunday night, a clip in which the 37-year-old was seen telling English journalist Piers Morgan that he has no respect for Ten Hag and that he feels "betrayed" did the rounds on social media.
"I don't have respect for him because he doesn't show respect for me. If you don't have respect for me, I'm never gonna have respect for you. If you don't have respect for me, I'm never gonna have respect for you," he was filmed saying.
Ronaldo sat down with Morgan for what appears to be a tell-all interview, which he promised earlier this season when he was overlooked by the Dutchman after he missed pre-season due to an illness in the family.
The full transcript will reportedly be released later this week, with more criticism of Ten Hag, United and potentially his teammates expected to come from his conversation with the former Britain's Got Talent judge.
According to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, meanwhile, there has already been some reaction within the dressing room since the teaser clip was released, with players and Ten Hag said to be "extremely disappointed" with the timing of the interview.
The comments came just hours after the Red Devils picked up a crucial away victory over Fulham in the Premier League, where 18-year-old teenager Alejandro Garnacho grabbed the headlines with a last-minute winner.
Ronaldo has cut a frustrated figure at Old Trafford this season, after his attempts to secure a transfer to a club playing in the UEFA Champions League failed ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
The Portuguese has made 16 appearances in all competitions, contributing to just five goals.
