Eto'o, who competed at four World Cups for the west Africans, believes that his beloved Cameroon will be the side holding the famous gold trophy aloft when the tournament concludes on 18 December 2022.
The Cameroonian Football Federation's president has set high expectations for his charges ahead of the upcoming competition, saying it is the best time for African nations to lay claim in football's biggest sporting event.
"Africa has always had the potential to achieve a successful World Cup, but we haven't always shown our best face up to now," Eto'o said in a statement as per Goal.
"During the years, African teams have acquired more and more experience, and I think they're ready not only to participate in a World Cup, but also to win it.
"Cameroon will win the World Cup final against Morocco."
Europe and South America are the only continents that have had representatives in a World Cup final, but Eto'o seems especially confident in his prediction, even naming the sides that both teams will need to get the better of in order to make it all the way to the Lusail Stadium.
