With Marcus Rashford currently in the final year of his contract at Manchester United, here is the latest regarding the English marksman's future.
Official: Pogba Joins List Of Players Missing World Cup
As per the Daily Mail, the Red Devils want to tie the 25-year-old down to a new contract as soon as possible.
With only eight months remaining on the United academy graduate's current deal, Rashford would be able to negotiate a pre-contract with any team outside of England come January.
Paris Saint-Germain chiefs reportedly met with Rashford's representatives during the off-season, but nothing transpired from those talks.
However, a narrow opportunity may present itself in 2023. While it is unlikely the forward and the record Premier League champions will hash out a deal right now, particularly before the FIFA World Cup, the England international might not be in any hurry to tie himself down to new terms.
The Mancunians do, though, have a one-year option on Rashford's contract and will try to activate it before the global showpiece in Qatar in an effort to buy more time to negotiate a new contract with the player.
The Manchester native has proved an integral part of Erik ten Hag's plans so far this season, starting every Premier League match he's been available for, bar one.
The admiration seems to be mutual, with Rashford singing Erik ten Hag's praises earlier this season.
"When you are playing in a team sport, you want the players to be together. The energy is more positive within the whole team and at the training ground, that is the biggest thing. It is stuff he (Ten Hag) mentioned as soon as he came in," Rashford said of the 52-year-old Dutch tactician.
Kane Keen On Move To Bayern Munich?
The Englishman netted his 100th goal for the Red Devils against West Ham United last weekend, and if the club continues this trajectory under Ten Hag, the striker could end up staying at the only football club he has ever played for.
