Maritzburg are bottom of the DStv Premiership standings after 13 matches, currently on 11 points, following a difficult start to the campaign under the former Royal AM and Bloemfontein Celtic coach. Maduka is under immense pressure and Siya sources have revealed that the Malawian may not be in the role of head coach for much longer.
Davids was recently working as Josef Zinnbauer's assistant at Russian Premier League side Lokomotiv Moscow, but his time at the club was over within a couple of weeks as the German mentor was shown the door, along with his technical team.
The former Orlando Pirates co-coach has previously been head coach at Maritzburg, leading the side to a Nedbank Cup final which they lost to Free State Stars. Davids knows the club well, having spent the better part of his senior career as a player at the Pietermaritzburg-based outfit.
