Ghana Coach: We Can Beat Any Team In The World

Ghana Coach: We Can Beat Any Team In The World

With the 2022 FIFA World Cup looming, Ghana head coach Otto Addo has insisted his side has what it takes to beat any team at the tournament.

Brazilian FA 'Annoyed' With Neymar

The Black Stars are set to participate in only their fourth World Cup next month, and having been drawn in arguably one of the toughest groups for the global showpiece in Qatar, many are uncertain as to whether or not the west African nation will be able to qualify for the knockout stages.

The four-time African Cup of Nations winners have been drawn in Group H with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea, but Addo seems unfazed by the difficultly of their opponents.

"First of all, we want to play our style of play and I think Ghanaian teams in the past always play good football and this is also what we want, and we had previous tournaments where I think showed that Ghana has good footballers," the former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach said on Countdown Qatar, as per 3News.

"This comes surely also with victories and I think this is the first thing we want. If we can survive the group stage, which I said is going to be very tough, then anything is possible.

"I know that we can beat every team in the world. Everybody knows that at the World Cup, it will not come like the whole world expects things to be.

"I think the first match is very decisive, and from there we can know how to go on the second match."

On-Loan Chelsea Star Reveals Latest On Potential International Switch

Despite an unconvincing qualification for the tournament in the Gulf, Ghana have reinforced significantly over the past few months.

The 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists have recruited a number of stars from European nations after convincing them to switch their international allegiances, and will be hoping the likes of Inaki Williams and Tariq Lamptey help improve their prospects at the showpiece.
