De Bruyne Explains Difference Between Haaland And Gabriel Jesus

De Bruyne Explains Difference Between Haaland And Gabriel Jesus

Having spent the majority of his Manchester City career playing alongside Gabriel Jesus, Kevin De Bruyne has now revealed the difference between Arsenal's Brazilian striker and City's star forward Erling Haaland.

Pep Sends World Cup Warning To Man City Stars

At the beginning of the season, there were doubts as to whether or not Haaland would be integrated cohesively into the City squad, with Pep Guardiola's men having played without a true out-and-out forward for the best part of two seasons.

Those doubts have been quickly laid to rest given the start the Norwegian has had in Manchester, but De Bruyne was never in doubt about the 22-year-old's adaptation because, according to him, Jesus is similar to Haaland.

"I don't think it is really different, I think it is just different players. We have played with a false nine, but we have also played with Gabriel Jesus up front or with Raheem [Sterling]," the Belgian playmaker said, as per Goal.

"So, it is maybe not the same as Erling. But if you see Gabriel Jesus at Arsenal, he is a real number nine. It depends on the games and now we play with a real out-and-out striker.

"He [Haaland] makes different movements, so I think you have to adapt a little bit to the way he wants to play also, but I think it is going quite well."

Both strikers have acclimatised with relative ease to their new surroundings this season, with both playing big parts in their teams' success so far.

Jesus has scored five goals and assisted four times in 11 league appearances for the Gunners and while that is an impressive return, Haaland has put up even better statistics.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker has already scored 17 goals in the Premier League, while finding the back of the net a further five times in the UEFA Champions League.

Man Utd Set To Raid Ajax Yet Again?

Only Raheem Sterling has combined for more goals with De Bruyne than Jesus, but given that Haaland and the 31-year-old already have five joint goal contributions this season, according to Transfermarkt, the Scandinavian could usurp Sterling in no time.
