Manchester United have been linked with a surprise swap deal for Cristiano Ronaldo, whose future at the club is in doubt.
Ronaldo has been reduced to a bench role under Erik ten Hag this season after failing to secure an exit in the last transfer window.
The Portuguese's situation was not helped this week when he was dropped from the squad to face Chelsea after refusing to come on as a late substitute in the win over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.

However, some reports suggest there could be a way out for Ronaldo in January as Diario AS claim that Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix could be on his way out, with Ronaldo heading to the Spanish capital.
Felix is reportedly frustrated with his role at Atletico this season and is edging closer towards an exit, with the report claiming United are one of three possible destinations, which include Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Ronaldo was heavily linked with a move to Aletico in the last transfer window, but coach Diego Simeone this week said he couldn't see the move happening due to the player's former ties with city rivals Real Madrid.
"He is an absolute benchmark for Real Madrid, you would not see it," Simeone is quoted as saying by Diario AS.
"You would not see Palermo playing at River; he would not see Riquelme at River, you would not see Ortega at Boca… There are situations that are very clear."
