Folz Hints At Plan For Chiefs In Cup

Folz Hints At Plan For Chiefs In Cup

In planning for his first victory in the PSL and for his new club, AmaZulu coach Romain Folz is hoping to cause an upset in targeting Kaizer Chiefs in the upcoming MTN8 clash.

AmaZulu will welcome Chiefs to Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium for their MTN8 second leg semi-final clash on Sunday and the French coach has high hopes for the KwaZulu-Natal giants to knock Amakhosi out of the competition.

"I'm expecting the game to be very much competitive in terms of challenges. I think it's going to be very much on the physical aspect and who's able to take the pace on and knock the ball. By that, I mean also who's able to win the challenges early in the game. So, I think it's going to be a key element and I also think that the tactical element is also going to be very important going into the game. Both teams have good players, so It's going to be a matter of the best team in the key element for me the tactical point can be the crucial one in that game. So, it's going to be a very competitive game, that's what you can expect, but we are ready for the game, and we are looking forward to it," said Folz, speaking to the media ahead of the clash.

While the mentor had hoped for his first victory in the previous match against Maritzburg United on Wednesday which ended 1-1, he is now aiming for an upset against Amakhosi to reach the final of the prestigious competition build a name for himself in Mzansi.

"It's important as you can guess, if you win that game you're going to the final. So, the game is very important for us, as for them. Any team in that position will tell you it's very important game but, in all honesty, the game of yesterday (Maritzburg) was also very important for us but again it's one thing to give a poor performance and not get the result and it's another thing to have to judge the performance only partially because of the events happening. I'm sure we're going to bring what we need to bring in that game and let the best team win that game, we'll see," the coach added.
