Former Kaizer Chiefs player Mandla Masango has given his thoughts on players Amakhosi should have signed, while raising concerns that the Soweto giants should go into the market to find a player of Willard Katsande's calibre.
Despite signing Yusuf Maart, Siyethemba Sithebe, George Matlou, Dillon Solomons, Kamohelo Mahatsi, Zitha Kwiniwa, Ashley Du Preez, Edmilson Dove and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, Masango feels the Soweto giants still need a few more players to get the club to a level where they can conquer.

Some of the players he wishes Amakhosi could have signed are now in the colours of Mamelodi Sundowns, who are dominating local football and have the ability to pay big money for the players that they want.
"I believe that, with time, they will get there. With a few additions here and there, I think they can conquer. I think they need one or two in the striking force and they need a number six, in Katsande's calibre. They need a centre back and another left back. That's where they need to reinforce in my opinion.

"Sometimes it's not easy for a team of Chiefs' calibre. When they want a player, sometimes they overprice a player. And then tomorrow, people will say 'Chiefs don't want to do this or that'.
"At the end of the day, we must not only think in football terms, but in business terms. Does it balance the books? There are players that I would have loved them to sign. They should have signed Teboho Mokoena, but he was overpriced for Chiefs. They should have signed Sipho Mbule, but the same. Also, they should have signed the player who recently joined Sundowns, Mashego."
