Barca Facing Elimination, Salah Nets Hat-trick For Rampant Reds

Group A

Rangers 1-7 Liverpool

Mohamed Salah came off the bench to score a hat-trick as Liverpool thrashed Rangers 7-1 on Wednesday evening.

The home supporters were given something to shout about on 17 minutes when Scott Arfield opened the scoring on 17 minutes.

The Reds weren't behind for too long as Roberto Firmino nodded home a cross from Kostas Tsimikas seven minutes after the opener.

Firmino completed the turnaround for Liverpool 10 minutes into the second half, before Darwin Nunez added the third goal on the hour mark.

Salah then took over from the 75th minute as he bagged himself a hat-trick in the space of six minutes, before Harvey Elliot rounded off the scoring on 88 minutes.

Napoli 4-2 Ajax Amsterdam

Napoli secured passage to the last 16 after defeating Ajax Amsterdam 4-2 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Hirvin Lozano and Giacomo Raspadori had the hosts ahead in the first, although Davy Klaasen pulled one back.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osihmen made the game safe for Napoli after Steven Bergwijn pulled another one back

Group B

Atletico Madrid 0-0 Club Brugge

Atletico Madrid's struggles in the Champions League continued after drawing 0-0 with Club Brugge.

The visitors did finish the game with 10 men after Ghanaian forward Kamal Sowah picked up his second yellow card in the 82nd minute.

As a result, Brugge have qualified for the knockout stage for the first time in their history.

Bayer Leverkusen 0-3 FC Porto

FC Porto moved to second spot in Group B after thrashing Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 at the BayArena.

The visitors got the breakthrough on six minutes, with Galeno firing home before Leverkusen squandered a golden chance when Kerem Demirbay missed a penalty in the 16th minute.

Mehdi Taremi scored two penalties in the second half to wrap up the win for the visitors.

Group C

Barcelona 3-3 Inter Milan

Barcelona are in danger of missing out on the knockout stages after drawing 3-3 with Inter Milan at the Camp Nou.

Xavi Hernandez's charges got the opening goal five minutes before the halftime break courtesy of a strike from Ousmane Dembele.

Inter turned the game around when Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez found the back of the net, before  Robert Lewandowski levelled on 82 minutes.

Robin Gosens thought he had found the winner for Inter on 82 minutes, but Lewandowski rescued a point for Barcelona with a neat header on 91 minutes.

Barcelona now sit third in the group, three points behind Inter with two matches to go in the group stage.

Viktoria Plzen 2-4 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich advanced to the last 16 after thrashing Viktoria Plzen 4-2 on Wednesday evening.

The Bavarians ran riot in the first half as Sadio Mane, Thomas Muller and a brace from Leon Goretzka had the visitors 4-0 up.

Adam Vlkanova and Jan Kliment did reduce the deficit for the home side in the second half, but Bayern were able to see out the rest of the game.

Group D

Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 Eintracht Frankfurt

Tottenham Hotspur got back to winning ways in the Champions League after edging out Eintracht Frankfurt.

Frankfurt took the lead in the 14th minute courtesy of a strike from Daichi Kamada.

However, Spurs hit back through a brace from Son Heung-Min and a Harry Kane penalty before the break.

Faride Alidou did make it 3-2 in the 87th minute, but Spurs were able to see off any late pressure from the visitors.

Sporting Lisbon 0-2 Olympique Marseille

Olympique Marseille kept their last 16 hopes alive after defeating Sporting Lisbon 2-0 at Estádio José Alvalade.

The first half proved to be a lively affair as Sporting defender Ricardo Esgaio was sent off on 19 minutes after picking up two yellow cards in the space of three minutes.

Matteo Guendouzi then opened the scoring from the penalty spot a minute later, before Alexis Sanchez doubled the lead 10 minutes later.

Sporting did finish the game with nine players on the field after Pote was given his marching orders in the 60th minute.
