It appears to have taken him one season to adjust but this campaign, Kgaogelo Sekgota has been a standout performer for Amakhosi according to Zwane.
In the 2021/22 season, Sekgota was used mainly as an impact player, brought on in the last few minutes of games to try and unsettle opposition defences. However, this campaign, he has been doing it from the onset, having worked on his endurance to compete for 90 minutes.
After yet another telling display for Chiefs against SuperSport, Zwane was full of praise for Sekgota.
"He has been one of our best payers, much improved from last season when he was mainly an impact player. Now he is doing it for 90 minutes, showing character and taking the game to the opposition. He is more direct and you need those types of players to put opponents under pressure," Zwane told journalists.
Sign InHis performances for Zwane's squad has seen him earn a call-up to the national team, the only Chiefs player to do so.
"I'm happy to see him called up. You can see from his performance today that he did deserve his call-up and we'll give him all the support he needs which will boost his confidence," Zwane added.
