Luis Enrique has named his Spain squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches and has surprisingly left some big names out.
Official: England Squad Named For Nations League
La Furia Roja are set to face Portugal and Switzerland in their next two games as they look to extend their unbeaten run in Group B. The 2010 FIFA World Cup champions will face their Iberian Peninsula neighbours on 27 September, while they take on the Swiss three days prior.
Some high-profile names have been left out of the latest iteration of the Spanish squad as ex-Barcelona manager Enrique has snubbed the likes of Ansu Fati, David de Gea, Sergio Ramos, Iago Aspas and Thiago Alcantara in his selection.
In the case of Fati, Ramos and Thiago, the trio are coming off persistent injury issues but will be hopeful of still making it into Enrique's plans when the 2022 FIFA World Cup squad is announced in just over two months.
