A former Orlando Pirates player has weighed in on the resurgence of Zakhele Lepasa after the striker's impressive performance for title chasers at the weekend.
Lepasa opened his goalscoring account for the 2022/23 season as the Buccaneers defeated TS Galaxy 2-0 at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

The attacker was lively throughout his time on the field as he had also been involved in the first goal that was turned into own net by Spiwe Msimango.
Former Pirates midfielder Gerald Modabi has been impressed with the 25-year-old and is predicting a bright future for the star whom he compares to the late ex-Bucs goal ace, Lesley Manyathela.
"Pirates need Lepasa to remain fit. Lepasa is a good football player and is exciting to watch and he just needs to remain fit because he is injury prone. I think some of his injuries could be because he overworks himself in own training which is something that could be a result of desperation," said Modabi.

"But I can put my head on the block and say if the boy can stay injury-free for a good two seasons, he will be far much better than Lesley Manyathela. Maybe one other thing that needs to be looked at is the players around him and ask are they good enough with the supply for him to make hitting the back of the net a habit because that is what South African football has been missing until recently with Peter Shalulile. Lepasa could be the answer that Pirates has been looking for, for a very long time," he said.
