Official: Diego Costa Is Back In England!

Having been away for four years, Spanish hitman Diego Costa has now officially returned to the Premier League.

The Brazilian-born forward has been confirmed as Wolverhampton Wanderers' newest signing for the 2022/23 season.

The 33-year-old returns to the country where he won two league titles with Chelsea as he looks to continue adding to his legacy in the English top flight.

Costa's return almost did not happen due to his initial work permit application being rejected, but after Wolves appealed the UK government's decision, it was overturned.

As soon as the request was accepted, the forward was given the green light to fly to England for medical tests – all of which have now been completed, with the striker having signed a one-year deal with Bruno Lage's team.

The last competitive match Costa played was the Copa do Brasil final in December 2021.
