However, insiders have indicated how he is not yet registered with the PSL for the remainder of the season.
The sources close to the club attribute this delay to new coach Miguel Cardoso's reservations about Mothiba's fitness for the team.
"Yes, he is still training with the team. After being offered that six months contract, as it was at the time, when the technical team was going through changes but the new coach has been skeptical about signing Lebo (Mothiba)," said the Siya source.
"Because the talks had already started, they kept him but they could not register him with the PSL because the coach is not sure they need him right now. That's why he is not part of the squad at the moment," the source added.
A second insider noted that although Mothiba is not currently in the squad, the club is allowing him to continue training as they reach a final decision.

"For now, that's the situation. He is not totally out because they are still assessing him. That's why they have agreed that he can continue training with the rest of the players as the coach makes up his mind. So, the deal is not completely out but it will depend if the coach is impressed to register him. Mind you, he is a free agent," the second insider observed.
The 29-year-old last played active football for French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg during the 2023/24 season, where he featured many times before being sidelined by injury. At the time he used to get selected for Hugo Broos' Bafana squads, but he was a free agent since July 2024 when Kaizer Chiefs were reportedly considering him.
A move to Amakhosi didn't materialise before Sundowns offered him the short-term contract.
