If there is a record to break, reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns are always there to smash it.
After their 4-2 victory over Sekhukhune United on Wednesday evening, the club surpassed 50 points this season, with 11 matches to play. Currently on 51 points after 19 matches, the Tshwane giants have become the fastest club in history to hit half a century of points.

This shows just how they have taken their game to another level under the tutelage of Cardoso, who replaced Manqoba Mngqithi in December after a shaky start to the campaign. Since the Portuguese mentor's arrival, Sundowns have won 10 of the 11 matches they have played, losing just once to TS Galaxy along the way.
In these 11 matches, Sundowns have scored an incredible 28 goals. That's as many goals as second-placed Orlando Pirates has scored all season, and everyone else has scored less.
This is why Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs should probably be worried. Amakhosi visit a Sundowns side that is now scoring four goals for fun in matches. Sundowns have scored four goals in a match eight times in all competitions this season, including once against Amakhosi in the Carling Knockout earlier in the campaign.

Chiefs conceded four goals against SuperSport United in their last match and this could be a worry for the club's supporters as they prepare to take on a ruthless side. Chiefs will have to be at their best at the back to stop a club that has some deadly attackers in Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Iqraam Rayners and Peter Shalulile.
Victory for Sundowns would give them an 18-point cushion at the top of the standings, with Pirates set to play Marumo Gallants later in the day.
