Is Sukazi In The Running For PSL Chairman Seat?
With recent news that Premier Soccer League chairman Irvin Khoza is contemplating stepping down at the end of his term, there's immediately been a few names thrown about as his potential replacement.
The Sunday World reported last month that the Iron Duke had allegedly indicated his desire to bow out later this year having served the full four-year term after he was elected unopposed in November 2020.
It's far from being concluded whether Khoza, who is also chairman of Orlando Pirates, will indeed pass on the baton and allow a new figure head to take over and continue his legacy.
However, the Siya Crew has been led to believe one of the names being suggested to replace him is that of TS Galaxy boss Tim Sukazi.
The outspoken chairman is understood to be open to running for the seat should it become vacant and has in the past spoken of his admiration of the work done by Khoza over the years in establishing the PSL in 1996.
Indications are that sponsors, and all stakeholders will be waiting in anticipation as the months go on in the lead-up to the elections and a clearer picture of what direction Khoza will take as his current tenure nears the end.
Sukazi built his reputation initially as a player agent representing some of the best talent in the PSL as well as coaches – among them the likes of Elias Pelembe, Erick Mathoho, Mokgakolodi Ngele, Thapelo Morena and Steve Komphela. Sukazi later formed TS Galaxy in 2015, becoming owner and chairman.
