Moroka Swallows head coach Steve Komphela has explained what led to the heated exchange with the match officials during their clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Dube Birds bowed out of the MTN8 in the first round after losing 1-0 to the Brazilians on Saturday afternoon.
There was a heated exchange on the bench with match officials late in the game when Swallows were making substitutions, that included the likes of Gabadinho Mhango coming on and the likes of Tshegofatso Mabasa and Ntsako Makhubela taken off.

"It was not supposed to be both Makhubela and (Lindokuhle) Mtshali (taken off), we tried to drive the match based on the energy. We wanted first to take KG (Kagiso Malinga) out and then Mtshali, have Makhubela in central midfield," the coach told SuperSport after the game.
I'm sure we committed an error on paper by writing both Mtshali and Makhubela and it dealt us a blow because I had not had that picture in my mind.
"And as soon as that happened, I was trying to say, can he go back? And rightfully so, I mean you submitted, the referee said, 'No, no, the rule doesn't allow' then I had to think on my feet and start seeking council from the guys sitting next to me, to say how do you then solve it," he explained.
"Because you took out two holding midfielders and the intention was, take out a wide player and still have two holding and we had taken two of them, so we couldn't do anything.
"We needed to manipulate the structure quickly, because the Tshegofatso change was aimed later for 'Gaba' but you to do it and now you've wasted subs.
"That's what it was. You think on your feet, everything is happening, you got to manage the game and still remain rational in an emotional state. It needs unbelievable maturity."
