Kerr was officially dismissed by the Birds on Wednesday following a string of disappointing results in which he picked up eight out of a possible 24 points.
So far, the club has not made any announcement with regards to who his replacement is; however, Ernst Middendorp is among the coaches linked with the job.
Now, in a press release sent to the Siya crew, Kerr has broken his silence on the departure from the club, revealing his pleasure of achieving his initial mandate when he was appointed in the 2021/22 season under what he describes as very difficult and challenging circumstances.
"I'd like to thank Swallows FC for the opportunity to be part of history with the oldest team in South Africa.
I leave knowing that I gave my everything and more for the club, the players supporters to keep their dreams alive.
I tried my level best to bring an exciting brand of football back to the Dube Birds in line with the history of the club.
This was not always easy, often under very difficult and challenging circumstances, which have all been well publicized.
My main mandate on joining the club in January 2022, was to save the club from relegation, by all means possible. I achieved the mandate and can leave with the knowledge and experienced that I have gained in this time.
Wishing the club all the very best for the season and beyond.
Dylan Kerr."
