Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela has explained the benching of new Amakhosi arrivals, Leonardo Castro and Siphelele Ntshangase.
The two players have started all their matches from the bench since joining the Naturena team. Speaking to the media, Komphela explained that although he is tempted to start both players, that would lead him to dropping other players, which can be hard to justify. He also mentioned that it depends on the game itself at the time.
Supporters Club members have reacted to Komphela's statement; here's what some of them had to say:
"Coach, your explanation doesn't make sense. Are you telling us that you're playing Paez to give him confidence at the expense of playing effective players?" – Keykey
"Hey, 18 goals in 20 outings says a lot about Jola's (Komphela's) defensive approach." – Schakos
"I was hoping that you were going to resign but then again you won't be outshone by your friend Jacob Zuma, who would rather take the ANC down with him rather than resign." – Pks
"We all know that you don't like so-called attacking football, you are only good at parking those Putco buses." – Zwelethu.Mtanjana
"I can't wait to celebrate Komphela's departure. #Woza May 2018." – Hlasela_Khosi
Do you agree with Komphela's reasoning for starting Castro and Ntshangase off the bench?
