As first reported by the Siya crew, Stellies have acted swiftly in tying down in-demand Basadien, who is understood to have attracted interest from both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
On Thursday the Cape winelands outfit confirmed that the player has signed a new long-term deal with the club, though the specifics of the deal and length of the contract were not disclosed.
"I owe Stellenbosch FC a great deal of loyalty as the club has added tremendous value to my growth as a footballer," Basadien told Stellies' media department.
"I believe the club is moving in the right direction, both for me as an individual and for the team, so it wasn't a difficult decision for me to extend my contract in Stellenbosch.
"The new deal offers me the security and comfort to improve and develop my game even more, as well as achieve more success with the team and further my ambitions of playing for Bafana Bafana," he said.
