Mamelodi Sundowns travel to the Dr Molemela Stadium this evening as they battle it out against Bloemfontein Celtic. The current title holders will be hoping to bag all three points on offer as they will want to climb up the PSL log.
Platinum Stars host Orlando Pirates at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium. The Buccaneers endured a tough first half of the campaign and will look to start 2017 on the right foot against an inconsistent Dikwena.
The Lucas Moripe Stadium will host the encounter between SuperSport United and Golden Arrows. The home side have been impressive so far this season, however, Arrows have enjoyed some success too and will hope to put up a stiff fight.
Crotone host Juventus in a Serie A league encounter. Juve have the upper hand coming into the match, however, Crotone will be looking to make the most of their home ground advantage.
Leicester City face Derby in the FA Cup this evening. The Foxes will be hoping to progress in the cup tournament as they are in need of a confidence booster.
Bloem Celtic v Mamelodi Sundowns (Absa Premiership)
League rankings: Bloem Celtic 12th Sundowns 7th
Useful facts: There is no team in the Absa Premiership that Sundowns haven't taken more points (47) off than they have in their last 24 encounters with Celtic. Sundowns have won 14 of those games, losing five and drawing five. However, the Brazilians lost three of their last five games in all competitions, prior to the break, while Celtic lost just one in that timeframe. As the season approaches its business end, Pitso Mosimane will be keen to state his authority on this game and show that his team are capable of defending their title, despite missing so many fixtures at the start of the year.
Dumisa Ngobe: I'll give it to Sundowns.
Platinum Stars v Orlando Pirates (Absa Premiership)
League rankings: Platinum Stars 13th Pirates 10th
Useful facts: Having avoided defeat in their last three games of the first half of the season, Dikwena will be hoping to come back from a poor first half of the season with a win over a team that has had the historical advantage over them in their last 21 encounters. Pirates have 12 wins in that timeframe, while Platinum Stars have only two. But, Pirates haven't won any of their last five, losing three of those games.
Dumisa Ngobe: I'll give it a draw.
SuperSport v Golden Arrows (Absa Premiership)
League Rankings: SuperSport 1st Arrows 6th
Useful facts: After a promising start to the campaign, Golden Arrows have failed to win any of their last six league games, while SuperSport seem to be going to strength to strength and haven't lost a single league game since their defeat to Platinum Stars on the opening matchday in August. Furthermore, in the last nine league encounters with Arrows, Stuart Baxter's men dominate with four wins and three draws, as opposed to Arrows' two wins.
Dumisa Ngobe: SuperSport will take it.
Crotone v Juventus (Serie A)
Group rankings: Crotone 19th Juventus 1st
Useful facts: With five wins from their last six, as opposed to Crotone's one in that timeframe, Juventus come into this game as favourites. Furthermore, in their last two encounters, the reigning champions have won both, scoring eight goals in the process.
Dumisa Ngobe: Juventus
Leicester v Derby (FA Cup)
Group rankings: Leicester 16th (Premier League) Derby 8th (Championship)
Useful facts: With Leicester's Premier League title defence now out of sight, the FA Cup and the Champions League are all they have left to salvage from what has been a poor season. But with four wins and just one loss from their last six encounters with the Rams, Claudio Ranieri's men will be confident of progressing to the next round and having another shot at silverware.
Dumisa Ngobe: Leicester have been concentrating on the Champions League, so I'll give it to Derby.
